Paddy Tipping Visit

Paddy Tipping Visit to The Furniture Project

Paddy Tipping, Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire visited The Furniture Project Nottinghamshire on Thursday 11th January to find out what the project is all about and the services it provides for people living in Nottinghamshire.  He was particularly interested in finding out about how the project works with the Probation Service and was keen to hear about the Community Payback placements that we offer to offenders as a way of rehabilitation and payback to the community for the crimes they have committed.

The Community Payback scheme is unpaid, hard work but also offers offenders the chance to get involved in their local communities, learn new skills and do something positive and worthwhile which all helps to make the communities we live in safer and better places to be.  Carole Batey, Project Manager for The Furniture Project Nottinghamshire said: “It was fantastic to get recognition from the Police and Crime Commissioner for all the work we do with the Probation Service and offenders and to be able to show him around the Project and meet the volunteers and staff who are passionate about the work we do.”
